Announcing Figmode: Rapid Modal Keyboard Control for Figma

Video preview
I live in Figma, but I kept running into the same annoying pattern:
  • Select frame
  • Go to the sidebar
  • Click through Auto Layout settings
  • Set row or column
  • Set spacing
  • Select width fill or hug
  • Select height fill or huge
  • Repeat forever!
None of this is hard, it’s just slow.
Figmode is my attempt to make this doable exclusively via the keyboard, on one hand, without touching your mouse.
The basic idea is launch Figmode → type a few keys → get layout changes.
I’ve been using this for a little while now and already I’ve developed a muscle memory for it that makes working with autolayouts unbelievably fast.
And it’s 100% free and open source: https://github.com/inventbuild/figmode
